RuleTrigger sends you a Telegram message or a phone notification when a live football match fits a rule you created. This page explains what data that needs, why, and what you can do about it. In short: we keep as little as possible, we never sell it, and there are no ads or tracking.
Who is responsible
RuleTrigger is run by Kostas Tachas (Greece), who is the data controller for the service. For anything about your data, email kostas.tachas@gmail.com. For everything else, support@ruletrigger.com.
What we store
- Your account: your email address and password. Passwords are handled by our login provider and stored only in hashed form; we never see them.
- Your Telegram link: the ID of the Telegram chat you connect, so alerts can reach you. Only if you choose to connect Telegram.
- Phone notifications: if you turn them on, the address your browser gives us for sending notifications to that device, with its encryption keys. Only for the devices where you turn them on; turning them off or signing out on that device deletes it.
- Your rules: the leagues, conditions, names and notes you enter.
- Alerts sent to you: which match and score triggered which rule, and when, plus a copy of the Telegram message we sent and the chat it went to, and how many of your devices a phone notification reached, and, if you mark an alert, whether your bet won or lost (✓ / ✗), which only you see.
- Product updates: whether you want them on Telegram, and which update messages were sent to you, so nobody gets the same one twice.
- Messages to our Telegram bot: the bot only needs the connect link. Anything else you write to it is kept in our server logs, so don't send it anything private.
- Feedback you send: the category and message from the feedback form in Settings, so we can read it and reply to your email.
- Technical logs: our providers keep short-lived server and login logs (for example IP addresses) for security and troubleshooting.
Football data such as fixtures, scores and odds is not personal data.
Why we use it
- To run the service you signed up for: checking live matches against your rules and messaging you (necessary to provide the service).
- To send account emails, such as confirming your address or resetting your password.
- To tell you, rarely, about bigger changes to the service: a Telegram message and a "What's new" note in the app. You can turn the Telegram messages off in Settings; your alerts keep working either way.
- To keep the service secure and working (our legitimate interest).
We don't show ads, sell or rent your data, or use it for marketing. RuleTrigger sends notifications only; it never gives betting advice or recommends a bet.
Who helps us run it
We use a few providers who process data on our behalf:
- Supabase: database and login (EU, Ireland).
- Railway: application hosting (EU, Netherlands).
- Resend: account emails.
- Telegram: delivers alerts to the chat you connect. Telegram's own privacy policy applies to your Telegram account.
- Your browser's notification service (Google for Chrome and Android, Apple for Safari and iPhone, Mozilla for Firefox, Microsoft for Edge): delivers phone notifications to your device. The content is encrypted, so only your device can read it.
- Cloudflare: domain, DNS and forwarding of support email.
- Better Stack: uptime monitoring of the service (no user data).
- jsDelivr: delivers the login library to your browser. Like any website, it sees your IP address when your browser downloads that file. Our fonts are served from our own site.
Some of these companies are based outside the EU. Where your data may be transferred outside the EU, they rely on safeguards recognised under the GDPR, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. You can delete your account yourself in Settings (Delete account): your account, rules, Telegram link, notification devices, feedback and alert history are deleted at once. If you ask us by email instead, we do the same within 30 days. Provider backups are overwritten on their normal schedule.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Email kostas.tachas@gmail.com and we'll reply within 30 days. You can also stop alerts at any time yourself: switch rules off or disconnect Telegram or phone notifications in Settings. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr).
Cookies and storage
We don't use tracking or advertising cookies. Your browser stores a login token so you stay signed in; signing out removes it. It also remembers which help or "What's new" window you've already seen, so it isn't shown again.
Age
RuleTrigger is intended for adults aged 18 or over.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes we'll let you know by email.
